Webinar: Insurance Parity

Insurance parity is achieved when the benefits provided for mental health are equitable to the benefits provided for physical health. The federal Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act was enacted in 2008 to protect parity, but Michigan has yet to enact a regulatory law ensuring insurance company compliance. This presentation provides examples of noncompliance and describes what Michigan can do to ensure those seeking mental health treatment are provided fair access.
